My dog 18lbs just ate 2 lindt dark raspberry chocolates will he be ok?
Bryan S Asked: My dog 18lbs just ate 2 lindt dark raspberry chocolates will he be ok?
It has been 2 hours and no weird signs. Should I induce vomitting?
Answers:
I would def keep an eye on him
My pug ate one piece of chocolte and threw up all night
no don’t induce vomiting. He will be fine if this is an isolated incident. Chocolate is very bad for dogs, but if he hasn’t eaten too much (just the two) he is ok especially for his weight.
You should definitely induce vomiting or take him to the vet. Dark chocolate is a lot more potent and dangerous to a dog than white or milk, especially to a dog of that size. Although you said it was raspberry, it depends how much actual chocolate he ate. My dog ate a small ball of milk chocolate, so we took him to the vet straight away and made him vomit. If I were you I would take him to the vet anyway, to be on the safe side. My vet said sometimes there are symptoms of seizures and other stuff, so if you don’t take him to the vet definitely keep a close eye on him. Give him lots of water and don’t give him any food for a while.
honestly don’t take the risk. take him to the vet and make sure he’s ok. my dog died from seizures a year after eating one snicker’s chocolate bar. I’ve learned not to take chances when a life is at stake, it will be worth it in the end.
If I remember right, those chocolates aren’t that big, so the dog should be fine.My mom has a Basset Hound, and we had left one day and had a brand new bag of Hershey Kisses on the table (we didn’t think she could reach it in the middle). We come home and she had the bag inside out, and a huge pile of puke right next to it.We watched her for a few days after that, and she was fine.
If she starts acting odd/unusual for her, then take her to the vet and have her checked out.
call the vet and ask your dog should be fine
I found this answer to the same question:
Everyone knows that chocolate “can” be lethal..Dark chocolate is even worse…BUT, there’s no need to panic…One square of chocolate is probably going to cause some frantic energy, and some really nasty nightmares when dogger finally gets to sleep, but nothing more…
There is a substance in chocolate that is poisonous in large amounts but what most people don’t realize is that the caffiene in the chocolate is what is really dangerous..You see, a dogs liver is a bit different than ours and it can’t really process cafiene like ours can..
Think of it as a “pac man” effect…An overdose of caffiene is litterally the same as radiator fluid or acetomenophen (tylenol)…The caffiene keeps eating up liver cells and doesn’t stop..
This is worse case scenario and only if a dog were to ingest a huge quantity of it…One square is NOT a large quantity and dogger will be o.k….I promise.. 🙂

Dogs inability to digest chocolates. The toxic effect of chocolates on dogs is made more dangerous because a lot of dog owners are unaware of this fact. Humans get a lot of benefits from chocolates. However, Chocolate, the worlds most loved treat is dangerous to dogs because of its theobromine content. Theobromine, a chemical that is similar to caffeine is a naturally occurring substance found in cocoa beans. Theobromine serves as a stimulant and causes frequent urination, affects the kidneys and the heart muscles as well as the central nervous system. Unlike humans, a dogs system does not have the ability to digest this substance. Because of the dogs inability to digest the theobromine substance, continued consumption will cause an accumulation in the dogs system until a variety of medical concerns happen because increased level of toxicity

Apparently chocolate releases chemical substances that help us to put up with pain.
I've never heard of it!
Is it true?

i have some problem with chocolate mousse?
Rose k Asked: i have some problem with chocolate mousse?
Yesterday i made a chocolate mousse for me and my boyfriend, and we really liked it. the taste was incredible and rich. However, the texture was not really the same as the one you buy. it's not fluffy and lacked somewhat moisture.it was denser and a bit drier. these are the ingredients that i used:
3.5 oz dark chocolate bar
1 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup water, divided (2 tbsp for chocolate, 2 tbsp for egg mixture)
1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
2 large egg yolks
very tiny pinch of salt
1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream (i used the regular whipping cream)
what do I need to add to make this recipe fluffier and lighter? would adding more butter and whipping cream solve the problem? and what's the difference between whipping cream and egg whites in making chocolate mousse.
please don't give me links or new recipes with new ingredients. I need to know how to adjust THIS recipe.
thank you.

I don't really go to amusement parks or resorts but if my sons come home to visit we do make S'Mores and have them around the campfire just as we did when they were home and younger. I also like ice cream sandwiches occasionally in the summer, and make fresh popcorn at home. I throw a little Parmesan cheese on it sometimes. Or, I've made maple popcorn from fresh maple syrup.I am always open to some good chocolate. And if my sons come home I'll buy some licorice for them, but I never buy red licorice as I don't like red dyes.
neither, i dont eat a lot of snacks

is raw cookie dough dangerous?
jackfmlover1331 Asked: is raw cookie dough dangerous?
Nestle chocolate chip cookie dough?
Answers:
NOPE! A LOT of people eat raw cookie dough, totally harmless..
Raw cookie dough is dangerous because you could catch salmonella poisoning because of the raw eggs.
lol no, not unless you eat too much, the raw eggs probably aren't too good for you but a little nibble here and there wont hurt you
only if you eat it, you can get salmonella
raw eggs used to be potentially dangerous but now most all eggs are pasturized so all the bacteria that is harmful to us, is killed. so go ahead! eat that cookie dough! yum!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE that stuff!!!!! My parents tell me not to eat to much, but I still did. (raw) I never got sick, but just be careful not to eat too much. (and on the same day)
Well I have been eating it since I was a kid…But some people might not be able to tolerate it…
It does have raw eggs…Everyone should use caution………….
think of it this way, if it was dangerous why is it in ice cream
Nestles ready made chocolate cookie dough should be fine to eat raw.Certain home made raw cookie dough that contain eggs as one of the ingredients could be dangerous to eat because the eggs could contain salmonella.
The label advises you not to eat the cookie dough raw. It has raw eggs in it and with raw eggs you run the risk of contacting salmonella. As a kid I ate it often and never got sick. Eat at your own risk.
They say it is dangerous because of the raw eggs but all I can say is…I have eaten cookie dough my entire life and never once gotten sick from it.
The thing about eggs is that they are not all contaminated with salmonella which is the bacteria that make you sick. Yes it is a gamble and there may be no way to tell. But if you are dealing with fresh properly stored eggs, the chances are very very low that you will get sick from them. So eating foods with raw egg, including cookie dough is a calculated risk and honestly, not all that big of a deal. I am a lot more careful dealing with raw meat.

If you really love cookie dough, and want it completely safe, just mix yourself some without the egg. It won't make good cookies but it will be perfect cookie dough to eat or add to homemade ice cream, or whatever. You can also omit the baking soda.
